Here at Timberlane, we offer 3 different types of wood to create your Western Red Cedar - Sure we aren't supposed to have a favorite and love all of our Premium Wood choices equally. But if we did have one, this wood would be it. Western Red Cedar is a beautiful, fine-grained wood that has natural tannin to help preserve its character, quality, and long-lasting durability.
Spanish Cedar, also known as cigar box cedar, is a fine hardwood, has similar characteristics to Western Red Cedar but with its own enduring charm.
When it comes to our creation of our wooden shutters, we do confess a passionate attraction to Mahogany, or Sapele, a wood in the mahogany family. A luxurious wood, with a straight, open, and attractive grain, looks beautiful either stained or with a clear, natural finish. These characteristics make it the perfect wood choice of our Mission Style shutters.
